| The Arlington
Teachers' Association awards an annual scholarship to the child of one
of our members. |
| Eligibility Requirements: The
applicant shall: • be the son or daughter of an Arlington Teachers’ Association member • have been accepted to an accredited community college, four year college, university, or technical school • have a cumulative grade point average of “B” or higher. |
| Guidelines: The
applicant must submit the following components in
one envelope no later than April 23, 2010: 1. A completed application form, 2. A copy of a letter of acceptance to an accredited school, 3. A copy of your transcript of grades (high school and college, if applicable), 4. Two letters of recommendation, 5. A personal essay. |
Materials must be postmarked by Friday,
April 23, 2010.

Decisions regarding the scholarship
recipient(s) will be announced at the ATA RA meeting on May 17, 2010. In case of a tie, $500 will be awarded to each candidate. |

The ATA Scholarship Committee
is looking for a few members to help us read the applications this year
and make a recommendation for the scholarship recipient. Any member interested
in volunteering for this job should email Diana
Kent . Time involved will be minimal. Volunteers will be sent copies
of the completed applications to review and rank. One meeting will be
held (late April or early May) for committee members to share rankings
and decide on the scholarship winners. |
