The SLA offered training to enhance our skills in Association leadership, in the classroom, on the job, and in political decision-making circles, among others.

Some of the sessions attended by our members included 'Developing Effective School Leadership Teams', 'Dealing with Grievance Issues', 'Understanding the Illinois Teachers' Retirement System', 'Looking at Conflict Resolution Options' and 'Building Member Involvement'.

Chris Gardner inspired everyone with his "Rags toRiches" life experiences as portrayed in the move "The Pursuit of Happyness".
ATA members Ann Buch, Jim Grant, Christie Brennan, John Katzenmayer and Mike Damico attended the IEA Summer Leadership Academy in Bloomington in July to learn about various Association issues.
