A Detailed Look At Our District
ATA Demographics
We are the Arlington Teachers' Association (ATA). Our association consists of over 400 members, including our teachers and numerous support staff, such as our school nurses, psychologists, speech and language pathologists, and our social workers. We are an affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA) and the Illinois Education Association (IEA). We serve nine schools, including seven elementary schools and two middle schools with a total enrollment of over 5,000 students.
Our employer is Arlington Heights School District 25 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Our community is located approximately 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. It is a suburban village with a population of approximately 75,000 people.
The primary objectives of our association are to advance public education in Illinois and to work for the welfare of our school children. In addition, we also work to improve the professional and economic status of our membership. We also act as the liaison between our members and school administration.

How can I get involved in the ATA?

Why should I be a member?

We also provide scholarships and sponsor social events throughout the year.

IPACE versus FCPE:   Where do your political action donations go?

  • That question has been asked. As a clarification, your total dues already include a $20 IPACE (Illinois Political Action Committee for Education) donation that is used to fund political action issues in Illinois. For example, the ATA received several thousand dollars from IPACE a few years ago when we worked on passing our referendum. All IEA members are entitled to have the $20 IPACE contribution refunded to them by simply completing a written form available from the IEA. Please note, the form must be submitted to the IEA by December 1st. You can contact the IEA at 800-252-8076 if you would like further info. Please note, there are no national FCPE (Fund for Children and Public Education) political action donations included in the NEA association dues we pay. The FCPE donation has always been on a voluntary basis, including this year. Please contact us if you would like to make an FCPE donation.
