As I've been interested in photography for many a year, I thought it was about time I got some of my photographs on-line.

By day I'm a computer programmer, working for the University of Manchester. Outside of that I'm interested in many things (too many probably) that include: photography, railways, weaving, playing the guitar and programming.

Photographs

I live in Hayfield and many of my photographs are taken in the surrounding countryside.

Hayfield itself

Hayfield is an ideal starting point if you want to explore Kinder Scout. You can get here on public transport by a 10 minute bus journey from New Mills (services 358, 61, 62 and 62A) or walk up from New Mills on the Sett Valley trail (the old railway line from New Mills closed in 1970.)

A nice walk would be to get the train to Edale and then walk to Hayfield over Kinder Scout. You can complete the circle by getting the train back to Edale from New Mills or Chinley. If you're feeling fit you can continue the walk from Hayfield to Chinley (1–2 hours depending on route and fitness) or New Mills (50 minutes if you've got a train to catch) or get a bus down to New Mills.
