We have two concepts of "fate" in Asatru -- Wyrd
and Orlog. As I understand them at this moment, Orlog is an overall load of
fate that is your heritage, and Wyrd is your personal destiny. That's as I
understand them, like I said, which isn't very
well.
Today, I was scheduled to fly to
Nashville from Washington DC, by way of Pittsburgh. If that makes sense to you,
then you really need to review a map. So when I got to the ticket counter, I
asked if there was anything else available that was slightly less geographically
nonsensical. There was -- flying from DC to Charlotte NC to Nashville makes a
lot more sense, and would get me to Nashville a lot
earlier.
So I hopped on the plane to
Charlotte. Then I (and everyone else) hopped right back off. There was a
problem with the APU unit of the plane, and so we were being put on a different
one. So we got off and were told if we had a connecting flight in Charlotte
before 4:20 to stand in line because we would probably miss it.
Finally, I got up to the ticket
counter, where I was cheerfully told that I would be flying to Nashville by way
of Pittsburgh on the flight that I had originally fought against
taking.
If something really
life-changing happens to me in Pittsburgh (or on the way there, in which case
you probably won't be reading this entry), then at least I'll know I was exactly
where I was supposed to be.
Take care,
ya'll. Talk at you again soon, and I'll let you know about the life-changing
event in Pittsburgh. LOL
