Greetings from Incirlik Air Base, Turkey! I'm
sorry I didn't get an entry written while I was actually in Kyrgistan, but shit
happened.
Now I'm sitting in Turkey
after about 5 hours on an airplane, and it's nice. It's warmer here than
Kyrgistan (they swore it was 80 degrees the day before we arrived. I think they
always say that just to make you more miserable), about 60 degrees, and there's
a snack bar here in the terminal, which is out of everything except nachos and
meatball sandwiches. I had two sandwiches and an order of meatballs, and I'm
still kinda hungry. Maybe I'll go back when the line thins down again.
I'm charging my computer (I love 220
voltage. I'm not sure if physics allows for the fact that it charges my battery
faster, but it does) because I was down to 2.5 hours of battery life after
messing around with it all the way here. A Lt. Colonel leaned over at one point
and said "Excuse me, but how much battery life do you GET?" I told him about
five hours total, and he raved about how lucky I am, how he has to carry extra
batteries because he only gets a half hour or so. I refrained from the
obvious-- Get a Mac.
So yeah, still
heading home. Of course you know I'm okay because I'm not able to post this
until I get home, so if you're reading this, then I'm still alive (regardless of
any silly movie cliches which would make it the exact opposite).
