travel update

It looks like my travel plans for April are finally coming together. After complaining to my travel agent about them canceling my Japan tour, I was contacted once again, this time by their sales manager, Jeff, and asked whether I could alter my plans to join the May tour group. I again explained that, no, I could not travel in May due to the fact that my time-off request from work had already been approved for April and could not be altered. Jeff told me that he would look into some other options and get back to me. The next day he called again and, to my great joy, informed me that he was able to book me on a tour with another tour company with whom they work. The only catch: the tour starts a couple of days later than my original tour date, so I will either need to stay two extra nights in Hong Kong or two extra nights in Tokyo. Sounded good to me, I told him. I opted for two extra nights in HK since Tokyo is mega-expensive. This vacation is going to be awesome. Now if only the next eight weeks could go by with lightning quickness.

My major concerns, though, center on whether or not my dear Yanyang will be able to join me in HK. Will she be able to secure a pass to travel to HK from the Chinese government? Will she be able to get the time off work without a hassle? Why can nothing in China be accomplished without the maximum amount of bureaucratic B.S.? I just hope she won't have to bribe too many people.
