the return of laraI came across the press
release for the upcoming Tomb Raider game,
TR:
Legend, on Gamespot. Out of curiosity, I
checked it out. The first Tomb Raider game (which came out when I was still
gaming on a Windoze PC) was phenomenal (at the time). It was a watershed in
gaming history. But I stopped playing the franchise after TR 3. It was getting
too repetitive. I don't know what Eidos has planned for the latest incarnation,
but the screenshots of the new 3D model for Lara look pretty darn good. Obvious
sex-appeal factors aside, the detail on the model is amazing. But I wonder if
it'll translate as perfectly onto the actual gameplay screen. I have a feeling
it will be quite some time before we find out. Games take longer to produce than
movies.
