Textile Word of the Week: Ikat - a style of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft before the threads are woven to create a pattern or design. A Double Ikat is when both the warp and the weft are tie-dyed before weaving.

Then, how about those Japanese once again for a great idea. Make a haramaki (tummy warmer) to fit in that gap between your too low jeans (darn designers) and too short sweater. Here's a tutorial from PlanetJune.

The tummy warmer is so funny. Evany Thomas also had a post about this...four years ago! Someone was selling them as "bump covers" when I was pregnant with James.
