01/10/2007: "back to work"
1. the computer is back from the dead. we replaced the power supply and then had to make a minor repair on the new power supply (argh!) but it is now back.
2. happy new year. we haven't had a chance to take our tree down yet and there are still a few stray packages and cards to get in the mail... but i think we made it through. had a great visit with my family and watched many fred astaire movies.
3. my sister got engaged. hooray! congrats to beth and nate.
4. my friend sheri had a little baby girl in december. i have almost finished her quilt. her big brother got the very first blanket i ever knitted. it took forever.
5. read a GREAT mystery - And Only to Deceive by Tasha Alexander. great historical fiction. good characters. lots of trying to guess who the bad guy really was.
6. picked up another fun book to read while i had coffee last weekend - The Voyage of Patience Goodspeed (young adult). Patience's father is the captain of a whaling boat and takes his kids along on a whale hunt when their mother dies. the part when they get a whale is yucky - probably very accurate.
7. LOVE this. Trust Snape tshirt. i can just image the reactions. i might have to make myself one. 
i have a love hate relationship with snape. he is a marvelous bad guy. but he is just mean. and he is mean to neville. i can't stand that. but there has to be a reason. and then there's dumbledore.... you just don't know what to think. my favorite character? lupin. i would love to have a butterbeer at the pub and chat.
