01/03/2007: "my computer went "snap-crackle-pop!""

and no that's not a good thing. so that was our number three "bad thing to happen to us". furnace died - water supply line split - computer power supply shorted out. ok, so now we're done! no more appliance disasters. so far the computer is not too disasterous. the hard drive and the back up drive are fine and we didn't lose any data. the problem is that we know the power supply is fried but we don't know if it fried anything else on its way out, but the only way to tell that is to get a new power supply. quite the dilemma. we could replace the power supply and the computer would be fine, or we could replace the power supply and have a fried computer with a new power supply. andy has cobbled us back together in the mean time, while we mull this over.

i am finally heading to the post office today to mail all of the christmas packages. yes. i got nothing in the mail before the holidays. late presents are always fun and well, i just didn't have time or energy to get everything finished any earlier. i must go start putting things in padded envelopes and finish up the last of the christmas cards...

let's see if you get the right packages to the right folks...unlike your mother who sends things from RC to SF via NYS. smile
Maybe you should have put the computer in the basement so when the thing went kapow the splitting washer hose could have dampened any flames immediately.
