09/28/2006: "only two days til..."

that's right. back again this year, it's the third annual "halloween-costume-a-day". quick and easy costume ideas for all ages! bad puns, just plain cute and seriously silly. minimal artistic ability necessary. i have added more this year so we should have one for every day in october! brought to you by The Queen of Halloween (who hasn't figured out her own costume yet!) starting sunday october 1.

Oh Great Costume Guru! Any ideas for chain mail and silver colored metal helmets for Peter and his brother during the battle in Narnia?

hmmm... there is some "sequined" fabric out there that might make pretty good chain maille. usually stuck in with the halloween fabrics. it is a pain-in-the-a#% to sew however as the sequins are glued on and consequently make your needle a gummy mess. i will meditate and get back to you.

what...you aren't going to suggest pop-tabs???????

although those make marvelous chain maille, they are somewhat labor intensive and i am pretty sure mely would have to collect them for several years to get enough. smile

You can purchase a fabric called "metallic chainmail" which looks sort of like chain mail. You can get it at http://www.impalaindustries.com/prices3.htm
for $9.95 per yard but I think there is a 10 yard minimum purchase required.
