07/27/2006: "apron: the musical"


wicked (57k image)this month's Tie One On apron challenge was to make an apron based on your favorite musical. since wicked is my favorite musical-of-the-moment, i had to go with that. here is my emerald city apron. i based the shape on this costume from the musical...
mine is made from scraps that started somewhat green and then were overdyed. i also added an applique of a flying monkey in green velvet, embroidered the words "defy gravity" and an acrylic medium transfer of the show poster and and image of my ticket from when we saw the show in chicago. you can see a close up of the top here.
