Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Brockton District

November 16, 2009

Fellow Vincentians:

The SVDP Boston Council had its Fall meeting this past Saturday, and I want to update everyone on the results....

The forms for the Conference Annual Report should have been received by everyone. Please let me know if you are still waiting for this mailing.

Several of our Conferences have yet to pay their Annual Dues; please do so at your earliest convenience!

Several of our Conferences have presidents that have exceeded their maximum term in office of six years. We hope that you have a successor in mind!

The process of acquiring our own Tax-Exempt 501-C3 number from the IRS is almost complete. The Boston Council has retained a Boston legal firm to speed up the process, and we are almost finished. More to follow....

I hope all Conferences who are not Aggregated (recognized by the SVDP headquarters in Paris) have filled out the necessary form (attached to this email) and forwarded it to the Stoughton offices for approval. This is important, as many programs are NOT open to Conferences that are not aggregated - like the grants from the National Office.

The Brockton District Uplift program is back on track!! Please let me know if you have a family in mind - the application form is attached to this message.

The Healey Heating Fund has been expanded to include families who heat their home with propane or natural gas. The Boston District increased the amount of assistance for Conferences from $100.00 to $150.00 per delivery. A mailing will be sent to all Conferences this week with all the needed forms and brochures to help your clients in the winter to come.

The Boston Council Annual Communion Breakfast will be held on Sunday, March 21st. The venues for the event will be the same as recent years: Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church followed by the breakfast at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. The schedules speaker at this time will be His Eminence - Cardinal Sean O'Malley.

The Top Hat Award nomination papers are being mailed this week to all Conferences. The winner will be announced at the Communion Breakfast in March.

The Parochial School Trust will be sending out their forms for scholarship funds very soon. More to follow........

Last But Not Least: there are District funds available to you should you have the need! No strings attached!!

and.......Have a Great Thanksgiving!!!! Your Friend in Christ, Ray :-)
