Born in Germany....
in Bergisch Gladbach
Arne's parents are originally from Hamburg. They are Horst & Jutta Pingel and blessed with 3 great children. With a brother and a sister, Arne is the youngest in the family and always been a cheeky boy (like father, like son). His father is a very distinguished man with great sense of humor. He started working in a small printing company but over the years, he turned it into an empire in Köln before he retired. Likewise, Arne's mother is also a very intelligent and perceptive woman. She is unpretentious, honest and very protective of her family. But the best thing about her is she has magical fingers with food. Anything that she makes, IT IS DELICIOUS! Though his brother and sister were born in Hamburg, Arne was born Bergisch Gladbach. It's a small lovely town about 20 minutes away from Köln. In his younger days, Arne was in a swimming team and a very good swimmer, too. His 1st job was in a photo shop during his high school. By choice, he joined the army for a year after high school. His mom wasn't very pleased about this but he needed to experience some of the things in life which parents are not able to offer. Arne continued studying after the army and graduated from Business Management. After his Business Education, he applied for a position at Bayer, in Leverkusen. Bayer is a well-known company world wide for its pharmaceutical, agro chemicals and Aspirin. With determination and luck, he was appointed as Regional Management Support for China. For the past 6 years Arne continued working with Bayer. He joined ETP (Executive Training Program) and came to Japan in January 2000. Japan is his 1st assignment with Bayer to work outside of Germany. For 12 months he had intensive Japanese language training. During that time, he made many new and close friends from all over the world. He also had to do 6 months training in 2 different Japanese companies to learn how things work in planet Japan. After 1 year of tough training, he finally started working in Nihon Bayer AgroChem, in Tokyo. Arne is now in marketing division for upland fungicide team for crop protection. In his leisure, Arne enjoys playing golf and making Rose happy. Arne has a very kind nature with high moral values and loves his family very much. He has his father's ethics and sense of humor, as well as his mothers honesty. He's a kind of person who is not afraid to say "Sorry" when he is wrong and neither he is afraid to speak up when he feel he's right. Great thing about Arne is his non-judgmental way of thinking and his support for the underdogs. He believes in giving anyone a chance. He will associate and talk to anyone regardless of rank or social class as long as they are good people.
Arne has many interests and enjoy finer things in life. He likes motorbikes, BMWz3, his Mac-G4, music (Jazz), good food, good wine, good conversation and beer. His dislikes are fruits, Nori, rude people, dishonesty, horror movies and diet. Basically he's a very easygoing person. He's been in planet Japan for nearly 3 years and most likely he'll stay on for next 3 or 4 years before he would return to Germany. Arne has traveled to many countries and one day he hopes to open a burger shop with his friend, on a beach somewhere in Australia...... |
