| Frivolous Litigation: Idiocy knows no bounds... | | Date Created: Apr 01, 2006, 12:04 AM |
And you wonder why the legal system is so lucrative an enterprise.
You have to be a world caliber idiot not to know playing music at loud volumes for sustained periods of time is a clear and present threat to your auditory health. This is especially so with the in-ear "earbud" style headphones that are ubiquitous these days.
Don't get me wrong, I love my iPod and in my opinion, the device is not to blame. It's brain dead people who have no common sense and no sense of accountability for their own ctions. The iPod carries my music library wherever I go and I can listen at my convenience in virtually any environment and istuation. However, I don't know about anyone else, but I try to listen to what my body is telling me. When your ears start to ring (tinnitus) or you feel "auditory fatigue", it's a sure sign you are doing something unfavorable to your hearing.
My rant aside, please, protect your hearing. Listen at reasonable volumes. It's really easy to get to a point where you find yourself boosting the volume level ever so surely upward on that iPod click wheel- especially when you are trying to block out the noise of the 'L' train or the dull roar of an airliner at cruising altitude and speed. |
