The Italian Mistress makes her debut for the 2005 season.
Had to charge her GS AGM battery for 10 hours on the 1A slow charger. Pop her back in the tray, button her up and she started without a hitch. Gotta love that Weber-Marelli FI and 5.9 ECU (a new/revised unit on my 749S to solve erratic idle/throttle).
Warmed her up to 120F and took her out for nearly 100 miles today. Still cold, first time back on the Ducati so I took it easy. Pirelli Dragon Evo Corsas are not known to display what they're capable of in sub-50F weather. |
Stopped by MCC for a Monster S2R open house. Still a bit blah outside for most riders but there was a small crowd there. They had two S2R's and actually sold one over the course of the day.
Then I went by CCC to meet some friends for a spot of coffee. Dunkaccinos aren't half bad. It's run of the mill coffee with a rich hot chocolate mix. Hey... when it's 45F out and the windchill is below freezing on the bike... almost anything warm is good. :)
The Italian Mistress will have some routine maintenance coming up but I feel I have the resources needed since I got that DesmoTimes Desmoquattro maintenance book.
I do have a small recall issue to take care of- front brake line bracket/clip holder modification. But that should be a in and out fix at MCC. |
