"Der Schiff dreht sich um!" More news about Karl

Early Sunday afternoon, Regensburg

Dear Friends,

"Der Schiff dreht sich um!" These words, "The ship is turning around!" were overheard at Karl's bedside as the neuro-surgeons spoke among themselves about our dear Karl. This good word is passed on to you from Karl's "Opa"--Grandpa Madsen. "Der Opa" is at the apartment cleaning and cooking! Anna just called from the Uni-Klinik to say that ever so slowly there are good things in the wind.

Though there are indications that the "ship is turning," the surgeons do not want the ship to turn too quickly. To that end they will continue to keep the anesthesia at the same level until at least tomorrow, Monday. In the morning, Anna tells, Karl will go in for another MRI as the doctors continue to try to determine if there appears to be any damage to the brain from the severe trauma Karl suffered. We all continue to watch and wait and pray.

Anna asks that I thank you for all of your extraordinary prayers, love and concern. That thanks, of course, comes as well from "Opa" and "Oma"--Karl's Grandpa and Grandma. We are all enveloped in God's gracious care by each and all of you.

Grace and peace,

George and Marge Madsen, Anna, Else--and, first of all, Karl
