Seeking angel's wings

Dear all,

So we are right on the cusp of rehab. We anticipate that Karl will have his skull reattached on Tuesday, and after he is stable, he's got a slot in a fine rehabilitation center near Munich. We are grateful for the care that Karl has received, and will receive at this new clinic.

Still, we want to come home. Our present thinking is that we want to come home no sooner than it is good for Karl, but as soon as Karl can swing the flight. It would be wise for Karl to get in on the ground floor of his rehab team in Sioux Falls, so that he need not have to switch caregivers and philosophies at this crucial stage.

There are 244 people on this list, and so many more receive it through forwards. So I am shamelessly taking the opportunity to see if anyone out there has a good idea of how to get us back to Sioux Falls. We have checked on Air Ambulances, but those are way out of our financial league, coming in at a ballpark estimate of $50-60,000. We have, more or less, a medical team who is willing to donate their services. "If you find a plane," said one of Karl's doctors, "you've got yourself a medical staff." God is good.

We can take a commercial flight, and are indeed open to that, but I am shooting for the moon, and hoping for a direct flight so as to avoid unnecessary, and stressful, transfers.

If you know of anybody who can help, please let us know. We have no idea when we could travel, but certainly not sooner than a couple of weeks.

Thanks for hearing this unabashed plea for extravagant help!

Anna
