The bad guys are strong but by God's grace, we'll be stronger |

Dear all,
Well, first the bad news. Karl has a strain of bacteria in his lungs that is very dangerous for people with low immune systems, and for babies. Like Else. So she can't be in the unit, which is very difficult for me on many accounts--she gives me strength, and she needs yet to be nursed. We have to try to keep her at home this evening, and for the first time, give her formula. Visitors to Karl are limited now, and I have to go in with a gown and mask, and be disinfected when I leave. The germ is not dangerous to him, which is good, because he's got enough on his plate with a vicious strain of pneumonia. We just can't seem to beat it.
BUT, as you can see from the pictures, he and I can cuddle. And it is no coincidence that five minutes after he and I snuggled yesterday, he opened his eyes for the first time. The doctors wanted to document the event, and I believe this picture will be famous, because they are so thrilled by its positive effects!
I have no more time to write, because the hospital sent me home to disinfect myself, my clothes, books, make-up, and anything else you can imagine.
Please keep us still in your prayers, This is a discouraging setback, and I need some extra strength these days.
Thank you so much.
Anna
