Caroline and I have known each other for about a decade, besides her having curated one of the shows I was in back in '97, she has been a dear friend, one whose work has earned my respect. You see, Caroline doesn't just shoot pretty pictures with a toy camera (well sometimes she does that too), no, Caroline uses the mammoth of all cameras, the more than 100 kg view camera that takes 20x24 inch polaroids. There are only 10 of these ever made and she has to travel to states and book one months in advance before she can use it for a day or two.

Over the past few years, she has been building a body of work mostly shot in 'chocolate' colour polaroid film but when she first showed me the goldfish series I said: 'Caroline, these are the photos that are going to make you famous'.

Congratulations on an exquisite set of images, which by the way work equally well as single images as they do in diptychs, triptychs, tetraptychs, pentaptychs.....you get the picture.
