Hong Kong's Shoe Shiners about to become extinct?




Recently the government announced it was going to make it illegal for people to sell shoe shine services on the street. One of the last vestiges of the old world that still exist here. These people are living below the poverty line and some are handicapped or too old to make a living any other way. I try to use their services any way I can, a perfect shine for HK $20 is one of the best values for money you can get here and it is a means of survival for these men.
