Hunter's
The Hunter's originally came from Fife. Later generations move to Denny, Stirlingshire and finally to Glasgow.
1st Generation
Thomas Hunter and Elizabeth Thomson had 8 children, all born in Dysart, Fife. The children were:

Thomas married Helen Butters in 1848 in Dunfermline, Fife . Helen was born circa 1826, her parent's were John Dryburgh and Helen Butters. Thomas and Helen had 9 children:

Christina married Henry Watson in 1865 in Denny, Stirlingshire. Henry was born in 1841 in Denny. His parents were David Watson and Mary Taylor. Christina and Henry had 4 children:

Ebenezer Hunter b 1872 d 1872
Ebenezer emigrated to America in 1871. He married Mary Jane Backhouse in Pennsylavania in 1875. MaryJane was born in 1854 in St Martins, Jersey, her parents were William Backhouse and Hannah Proudlove. Ebenezer died in 1891, he was killed by a runaway mine car whilst trying to warn others of the danger. To read various obituaries which appeared in various newspapers, click here. John married Emily Fleming in 1883 in Glasgow. Emily was born in 1859 in Glasgow, her parent's were William Fleming and Emily McGregor. John was the minister of the United Free Church of Scotland in Boharm, Banffshire. They did not have any children. John died in 1925 in Glasgow. Photograph of the Rev John Hunter.
Margaret married Thomas Gillies in 1886 in Glasgow. Thomas was born in 1863 in Kilmarnock, his parent's were William Gillies and Marion Russell. Margaret died in 1887 whilst giving birth to their first child.
William married 1st Mary McDermott in 1887, he was widowed in 1888. Mary was born circa 1866, her parent's were John McDermott and Mary McBride. William and Mary had 1 child:
