| Star Tours is a collaborative effort between Disney and George Lucas. The story behind Star Tours is that you are boarding a Star Speeder to the moon of Endor. Well, naturally your pilot (Rex), who just happens to be a "brand new pilot" is your pilot. Of all the luck! Star Tours at Disneyland (above) is at the entrance to Tomorrowland. The wonderful neon lights will be visible from a distance, the neon lights will also be present on the spires on the old Circlevision theater, soon the. be Rocket Rods entrance. There is also a photo comparison of the old vs the new Star Tours at Disneyland. Star Tours at WDW (below) is not in the Magic Kingdom, it is instead in the Disney MGM studios. The ride is the same, it is a simulator ride, and wouldn't you know it, they found the same "get lost" pilot to fly the Star Speeders at WDW as at Disneyland. You think they would have learned. Star Tours is a fun ride (even if you never get to the moon of Endor). As you can see, Disney has space they can put a lot more into the exterior. The exterior of the Star Tours at WDW has an Ewok village, an ATAT (All Terrain Attack Transport) and a Snow Speeder (used in The Empire Strikes Back) and I believe the vehicle behind the Snow Speeder is a Skiff used for transporting prisoners in The Return of the Jedi. |
