| These are the old and new Disneyland parking lot trams. The photo above is of the old tram. This photo was taken when the parking lot tram had a pick-up and delivery point in the Bambi parking lot section. The tram had 5 cars and held 30 passengers per car. The new tram below has been dubbed affectionately with the name TramZilla, because it is so big. The new parking lot trams pick-up and deliver point is in the new transportation center, dubbed affectionately, the Christmas Tree lot (look closely). The new trams have 7 cars and each can carry 30 passengers, except the first car which can carry 25 passengers. So the net gain is 55 passengers per tram. The new trams are needed, and they need to carry so many people because of the construction for California Adventure (in the old Disneyland parking lot). The new parking lots have no walking access to the main gate, so now everyone must (or should) ride the tram. |
