Carry On Councilling

After Christmas, politics here in Lewisham seem to be taking off again.
Had a pleasant chat the other day with Barry Quirk, Lewisham's Chief Executive, comparing & contrasting Lewisham's less confrontational political culture with Sheffield.
A world away from the grass roots in my own ward, with its problems of vandalism, local flooding, crap transport etc.

Tourneys, masques, |
| theaters, better become our halcyon dayes. Been trying to fit in some culture into my busy schedule and have succeeded in part. Most recent trip was to the ballet Giselle at Covent Garden with Alina Cojocaru as Giselle and Ivan Putov as the Prince. Easy on the ear and eye. |
The other good thing I saw recently was Kat and the Kings at the Tricycle Theatre at Kilburn. A musical set in Cape Town against the absurdities of apartheid. Very energetic. Very enjoyable. |

OK, it's terribly British to be obsessed by the weather, but it is an extraordinary normal WInter here in London, with scarcely a trace of global warming. Lots of snow over the last week, and now a gale is howling outside. Can't wait for Spring!
