1.07.06: it's our year!

So far this winter, Mason and Avery are staying healthy and we're getting lots of good news at follow-up appointments from several specialists. The boys also continue to grow and develop at a great pace. I intend to go into more detail about all the latest on the health front in another update soon. For now, we'd just like to say Happy New Year and share some photos.

Since I'm finding it so challenging to get these guys to take a decent photo together, we sent out separate photos of them in our holiday cards. Here are two of the shots we chose, plus the rest that made the initial cut. It is definitely easier to get photos of Mason because he's able to sit up with little assistance now. He's also a very expressive little guy, as you can see from this series of shots. Avery still has the most amazing big smiles and beautiful eyes. It's also wonderful to see him fill out and look healthier all the time. As my grandmother mentioned recently, Avery's "growing into his eyes."

Somehow, I must have escaped the "naughty" list this year because Santa was generous and gave Mommy a very cool photo lighting kit. Once I put everything together and figure out just how to set the scene, maybe I can take some truly professional looking shots soon. Given we really can't take these guys out in a public place like a mall or department store for quite a while, at least we can capture some good images at home.
