How to decide? I have the luxury of being able to ask
for one of these for my birthday, but I can’t
decide on which one I want.
The Canon 40D has a faster framerate (6.5 fps) compared to the Nikon D90 (4.5 fps)
The Nikon is a 12.9 megapixel to the Canon’s 10.1 - I’m told that this is not a very notable difference for light hobbyists.
The Nikon can shoot video, though I’m really not sure whether this means 30 second clips (not very useful) or 15+ minute clips (only kinda useful) and the Canon can not shoot video. We would likely be looking at a new dedicated video camera in the near future anyhow.
Both are SLR, shoot RAW formats, and offer the same pricing.
I really like the higher framerates on the Canon, and I’m leaning in that direction. The real key here is to be able to get images of Cady when on the move, notably in odd light situations (such as the gym she has gymnastics in)
Either one will be a huge step up from my very old Olympus C-740
Let’s hear it, photogs. What to choose, what to choose?

Well thanks

Well thanks to everyone who has asked for more
information. Unfortunately, as things go, some things
(that cannot be discussed) have caused me to be
unable to reveal information at this time. I can say
that the unanticipated delay is still a very very
good thing, and I will offer more when able.
For now, I can only offer one thing...
This thing is freaking awesome!!

Just so we're clear on this...

We've received some comments about the new hair cut,
all very encouraging (join us, Jeff) and for that, I
am very appreciative. Just for the record though, the
cut was my own decision. I've wanted to cut the hair
for quite some time, mainly to get more chicks
to look a bit more respectable, particularly in my
new job at Apple. Thanks to a little encouraging
boost from someone at work, I put my foot down, and
decided it was time.
What new job you ask? Well I can't tell yet, as I have signed some agreements not to talk about it, but I think I could reveal more on June 29th (If that's not a clue, then you haven't been looking at any news anywhere). I'm really excited about this, and hope for further advancement as well. The ponytail and long hair isn't a hindrance when in the tech field, but in my field now, and in the field I want to attain, it really is important to dress for the part you want to be a part of. Hair is hair, but a career that you can enjoy is so much more important.
So Heather, you asked one of the questions I was surprised about. That was pretty perceptive, and yeah, we went with a little color the day after the hair was cut. You wanna see? Sure ya do.
Alright.

So apparently the surf's up, Dude.
Move over Richard Gere

Well,
yesterday, we did the dirty deed. NO, not THAT. The
other sinful act that my mother has actually insisted
on, in the past. We went to my friend Pam's hair
salon, and asked her to chop off Scott's hair.
For almost the entire time I've known him, he's looked like this. I'd seen pictures of him in his early twenties with shorter hair, but that was a late 80s hair style, and yeah, you get the idea...It looked like a 20 year old, with a fashioned hair style, set in the late 80s.
So, today he actually had it cut off. The pony tail will be mailed to Locks Of Love sometime this coming week.
And the end results? Pam and I think that Richard Gere is going to have to move over.
There's a new man in town .
This one's for Mom. So, what do the rest of you all think?
