In some of the FSSP Parishes and Apostolates around the world an Evening of Recollection has been made available once a month for the members of the Confraternity. These evenings are profitable to inspire members with holy zeal to continue their growth in the spiritual life, and being centered on the spirituality of the Mass, they serve to enrich our love for and devotion to the Holy Mysteries.

These evenings take the following format:

  1. 1) Mass

  2. Because the monthly theme will be centered on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, it would be good to begin the evening with Holy Mass.

  3. 2) Conference on the Theme of the Month.

  4. The conference is given by a priest, and begins with a prayer, usually to the Holy Ghost. At the conclusion of the conference three Hail Marys are recited for the repose of the souls of all deceased members of the CSP.

  5. 3) Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

  6. 4) The reading of a meditation

  7. (without turning the back to, or disregarding the Blessed Sacrament exposed)

  8. After the reading a few minutes should be spent in silent mediation.

  9. 5) The decade of the Rosary for the intentions of the CSP, followed by the prayer of the CSP

  10. 6) Benediction as usual.

  11. It is recommended to have the sacrament of Confession available at some point during the evening.

  12. Also, to aid recollection, dimmer lighting in the church would be appropriate.

  13. This format is only optional or recommended, each parish may wish to spend the evening differently
