Danube Flood Relief
We returned to the relief camp of those left homeless by the flooding of the Danube river, bringing 100 rainjackets, more blankets, and clothes as well as 40 kgs of soap and shampoo donated by local company, and washing powder and soap donated by the children's parents and the teachers.
Bucharest Sunrise Schools:
We ended the school year with trips horseback riding and to the "Salina" - a vast underground salt-mine. There was also a special overnight slumber party at the Mihai Bravu Sunrise School for the last theme birthday party of the year, and the year concluded with performances in the garden for the parents.
Panatau projects:
In Panatau, some of our children from our children's home have just had important exams to decide their future educational path. Timea passed the "Capacitate" and now is qualified to go to highschool, and Elvira will be beginning a trade school next year. Iosif is still studying to pass his highschool diploma exam at the end of the summer. Also Elena, Priya and Ionuts passed from the 4th class of Elementary school and will now begin middle school. The children are currently in Poieni, our countryside summerhome for two weeks vacation playing in the vast open fields and meadows there. Some of the older children meanwhile are spending time in the mountains with some sponsors from Holland that came along with their teenagers as well! Later in the summer our smaller children will go to the Black Sea, and Mircea will have an opportunity to travel abroad to visit a sponsor.
Thanks to a donation from A.S. Futura Parma arranged by Mandakinii, we were able to sponsor a teacher to go the Neo Humanist Education Summit in Sweden, and also thanks to help from the Swiss association sponsoring our children's home, one of the staff from the children's home was able to attend. Altogether 3 staff from the AMURTEL projects were able to attend the program - Daniela, Larisa and Cristina.
We are waiting with anticipation and excitement to find out if we will receive funding from the Dutch foundation "Cooperating Netherlands" for our new proposed project of an after-school center in Panatau. The answer is expected by the end of the month.

We are offering very affordable vacation accomodation for small groups (8-18 people) costing 5 euro a day per person, 10 if meals are included. It is especially designed for hosting groups of children, or up to 3 families vacationing together.
