| After School Center
In Panatau, incomes are extremely low and most families survive on subsistence farming. In collaboration with the mayor, AMURTEL has made a project proposal to open a new After School Center to provide a hot daily meal to 20 children in need, as well as homework support and extracurricular actvities like computer classes. We are awaiting the response to our grant request, but already the mayor has put a building at the disposal of the project, and will be participating in supporting the costs...

New Computers!! |
After the flooding of the Panatau elementary school this summer, out of 20 newly donated computers less than 5 were still working. AMURTEL, with the help of Amici nel Mondo Italy arranged a donation of 10 new computers for the school and 2 for our children's home. The first shipment just arrived and the director was very pleased, as well as the children!

| Learning adventures |
Our Sunrise Schools have been busy with many activities - intercultural festivals for France and Lebanon, visits to the theater, ballet, museums, traditional dance classes, painting classes, even astronomy class! Soon swim lessons begin. There was even a trip to the mayor to petition to save a local playground! We had a collective trip with both schools meeting at a special indoor playground of gigantic balloon structures which provided hours of bouncing and fun! Come see our pictures!
