Introduction
Over the past eight years I have educated middle school students in Math and Science and have found that students learn better when they are exposed to multiple types of educational material. I use multiple intelligences in the classroom to increase and enrich the students' understanding of the subject matter. I use textbooks, videos, on-line resources, hands-on experiments, and real life examples to motivate and help my students learn in my classroom.
In eighth grade science the students continue to work in a lab setting and with lab equipment. The students are working on lab activities at least two to three times a week. The labs are incorporated into the eighth grade curriculum, which is based in life science and chemistry, with a touch of weather and environmental science.
The computer and other forms of technology will also be incorporated throughout the year. Our room and school are well equipped with many different forms of technology and we definitely take advantage of all it has to offer. We use the labtops, classroom monitor, and the wireless connection through the school year. Throughout the year the students will also be asked to search for informational sites on different topics we cover and sites that make it that much easier to understand the material.
