Sad boy


Another subway story



This boy seemed to be having a hard time with his mother and other brothers (who were off camera to my left). He was sleeping and his mother slapped(!!!!) him awake just before the train stopped and he fell off the bench, dazed from the fall, and, I suspect, also from the slap. The other brothers, and his mother, started laughing at him. I saw his face as he looked at his brothers and I almost cried. I wondered what was going through is mind at that moment. The laughing from his mother and brothers didn't seem to be helping his mood. I have my own opinions about what his life might be like, but I do know, at that moment, he wasn't having a good time. Would you?
