Bolt nose


This caught my eye one night.



I know that this is a sign for school kids crossing, but look at it closely. What are they carrying? Why don't they have any feet or necks? Who's leading who? And why does the boy have a Jimmy Durante nose? (no offense to the late Mr. Durante)
