Coverage in local "tourist" activity publication, "What's Playing"

That's my photo of Mustafa in upper right.

Most of the first years photos you'll see were taken by us.

(WIRF requested use of all our 2006 photos for publicity use.)

Map has changed since last year. Things have moved and been added.

Royal Quart used to be the Tipsy Gypsy.

Gypsy Stage is now the Bad Boggin Stage. (mud show)

Pizpor now has his own stage next to the maze.

Royal Stage has been almost eliminated and seating has been shifted nextdoor to the TG.

Moving the Shepherd's Croft next to the List Field was a big improvement.

Watching the sheep dogs work in the joust area now is a most excellent change!

They stopped selling Slushies this year! WHAT! Good thing it wasn't that hot this season!

Final weekend had the biggest crowds and best weather.

As usual, we only missed one day this year, having helped daughter Erin move that day.

This article indicates attendance was affected by the record price of gas, $4.09.

Following article shows that has been a factor all across the country.

We LOVE that WIRF is 2 hours and 15 minutes closer for us than MRF!

Final weekend

Up north by us, there has been a severe reduction in traffic.

People have stopped driving out here in the country.

It's almost like a horror movie where everyone has vanished.

Vendors were scarce, but entertainment plentiful.

Tuey from MRF performed two weeks.

Even a couple of Dreg-ettes sang in the Tipsy Gypsy!

Hopefully the entire Dreg team will come in 2009! Huzzah!

A good blog review from a visitor.

Picked this up at the downtown visitors center.

As much as we enjoy WIRF, we have never spent the day. Having to work every morning gives us a late start. So we missed the experience of a gate opening ceremony.
Relatives (daughter & son-in-law) living nearby can be handy. We got together with them several times this year. Twice here at the faire.
The faire is close to movies, shopping, eating. Season tickets are handy, as we don't feel we have to stay all day to "get our money worth". And we like to combine activities. Flexibility. We love flexibility. No flight plans for us. A big gap between performances we wished to see? No problem. We went to a movie. Or the nearby China Buffet. Then came back.
Four hours at the faire every day lets us catch performers who may show up just for one weekend. Like the Dreg-ettes. Or the Naval Strategy Training gamers. Some acts got the pleasure of our company multiple times. (grin) Pizpor. Moonie. Samirah.

One of our major purchases. From "Doors to Dragons".

Seems this guy was supposed to be taking care of the egg.

Maybe stayed out in the sun too long playing "dragonball"?

That's one petrified egg! (iron pyrite)

My major purchase from "Stone Gryphon Studio"

Put it off for three years, finally made a deal.

Traded 3 of "Grimmy's KeychainMaile" for a price reduction!

Thanks Todd! "You're the Best!"

"Just what exactly is Grimmy's KeyChainMaile?"

Small pieces of Maile Armor used as keychain fobs.

Usable art I made from scatch out of 16 gauge steel wire.

My first attempt at mass production of a marketable product.

Made 20 in 2008. Not enough to sell. But enough to barter.

Every one's different! Each one's unique!

Works better than a worry stone! Fun to play with. Stress reliever.

Pizpor, Zilch, John John, Blackenshear, Mustafa and Samirah

were each awarded a piece of Grimmy's KeyChainMaile

as a token of my gratitude for helping make WIRF a success as

they helped create magical moments of fun and enjoyment.

(Sorry Moonie, I started this after you left. Next year?)

but then again, your huge Moonie sign is made of maile!

Moonie the Magnificent needs not of my trinket?

Well, look at it as a $20 tip to carry your keys with!

Our Season Tickets, well punched.

My two-sided, die-struck, etched-to-darken, bronze coin necklace.

Turtle this side, celtic triskelion horses on reverse.

Coin maker was not the owner, so would not barter. His loss.

No Grimmy's KeyChainMaile for him!
