Subj: A Poem, or some such thing Date: Fri, Dec 9, 1994 3:41 AM CDT From: GregMeier@aol.com To: old-ways@tomservo.edaal.ingr.com The following "message" came forth unbidden and unexpected after reading a mildly negative response to Loreena's wanting to talk to the audience between songs. I do not know where it came from; it was as if a switch flipped, and there it was. I couldn't write it down fast enough, and am sure I forgot parts of it before I could get it on paper. Interpret it as you wish. If you were at the Nov.1 (New Years ...?) concert, I was with you,( and loved her informal talking to us, the audience.) I am but a weary peasant, intimate with the land. Bringing forth life, the best that I can. For many a year, I've never fit in. at meeting or ball game, in church or in gym. Along comes Loreena, and suddenly I know that another has feelings, for places I go Out in the woods, with trees strong and tall flickers of movement, lifeforms that crawl. The sky goes up forever, until I'm reduced to a quivering nothing, " It's quite a curse!" Life all around me, to it I relate I'm part of the program, it really feels great. Now to hear songs, of historical worth The best of human virtues, condensed into verse. Sung by a voice, so incredibly pure and melodies simply to much to endure. I'm no poet, just a poor working stiff but Loreena inspires a magical gift. So to all you out there, jaded with living Appreciate genius! Enjoy her.... for giving. She's one in a googol, or even more unique and I, for one, am glad for a peek. At what does occur, in her search for the old Her thinking and feelings of discoveries bold. If you've listened at all, there is no deception this poem's been inspired, by some unknown perception. Loreena calls it a "visit", something quite rare we should be joyful, she's seeking to share. So don't get upset, over a minuscule deal talking between songs, makes her more real. GregMeier@aol.com.
