Trenton (Oct 20) -Musical entertainer, Loreena McKennitt, seen here aboard one of 8 Wing's CC-130 Hercules, takes a short pause while trying her hand at "spotting" for missing aircraft on a familiarization flight during 424 Squadron's search and rescue exercise, "Tiger SAREX," near Montreal. McKennitt was in the Montreal area to participate in SARSCENE, an international search & rescue conference. She has been very active in raising funds for search and rescue organizations since she lost a loved one in a boating incident in Northern Ontario several years ago. McKennitt is a distinguished singer and harpist. She maintains a loyal audience and, in 1998, gained international acclaim for her song, "The Mummers Dance." It hit the top of the North American music charts.
