Greg and Wendy at Folkestone Hall

Greg and Wendy at Folkestone Hall
Early on an August morn, before the crowds arrive, my wife and I squint in the already overpowering heat, yet still enjoying the relative quiet in front of Folkestone Hall. Soon, masses of wandering patrons will jam this area, searching for food at the nearby booths. Within Folkestone Hall; a showcase of festival arts and crafts is displayed, showing some of the vendors best work, also a small stage where you can enjoy listening to wandering minstrels and storytellers.

Wendy and Amber

In front of leatherworkers cottage
Wendy and Amber Wendy and Amber in front of a leatherworkers, one of the many uniquely designed shops packing the twisting lanes and rolling terrain that makes up the festival grounds. The handcrafted shops fascinate me. All are built of wood or stone, using post and beam construction.

The Ship Stage

Where do you go to see Puke and Snot?
The Ship StagePuke and Snot have their own stage in the form of a ship, a frigate, I think. .............................. Be sure to get seated early so you can see Yo and Ho, a couple of funny pirate musicians who open for P and S. I love their Rattlin' Bog rendition!

Puke an' Snot Shop

Puke an' Snot ShopPuke and Snot have their own sales shop where I bought one of those, ................................ "I got a leak in my new mug!" mugs.

MEPHISTO!

Gypsy Prince of Fire!
MephistoMephisto, the fire-eater is a great favorite of mine. I've attended his performances every year since 1984. What a finale! This fireball will expand to at least twice the size.
