This section explains the items on the report.
- The serial number is available on flash ROM devices only. It is the same as the one found under Info in Applications.
- Version numbers are shown in their complete form. For example, Palm OS 3.5.3 is listed as 3.5.3f0 while Palm OS 4.2 alpha 18 is list as 4.2.0a18. Some OS were released with a wrong version number, for instance, both OS 4.0 and 5.0 were designated as development state in the retail versions, like 5.0.0d0. This is a mistake of PalmSource, not ID-plate.
- ROM size means the used memory in ROM. There is no legal way to obtain the actual ROM chip size.
- The misc flags are hardware features from the system globals
GHwrMiscFlags and GHwrMiscFlagsExt.
- The company, device and HAL IDs are available only to handhelds running Palm OS 3.5 or above. IDs prefixed with a $ means it is a hexadecimal number. IDs shown as
--
means they are not available. More IDs can be found on the Palm codenames page.
- The IrDA Lib and SMS Lib version numbers are their internal ones, which might be different from those listed under Info of the launcher's menu.
- The Sony Clié info page are collected from the ROM file SonySysInfo.
