EriTones is an eMelody ringtone management tool for Palm Powered handhelds. It allows you to:
- import ringtones from the web (thru Palm Desktop and MemoPad) or FunnyPhone;
- create and edit ringtones;
- send and receive ringtones via infrared or other media;
- organize ringtones;
- export as Datebook alarms;
- export as GSPDA Xplore G18/G88, Handspring Trēo or Palm Tungsten W or ringtones;
- playback;
- locating a ringtone with Palm OS global find.
Importing ringtones
- To import ringtone from the web please follow this tutorial
- To import from FunnyPhone, choose Import from the Ringtone menu, then choose FunnyPhone as the source and tap Import
Choosing a sending format
- EriTones can send ringtones in various forms.
- To change, select Preferences from the Ringtone menu and on Send as:

| MIDI | mobile phones with polyphonic ringtone support; smartphones with Symbian OS |

- Important: not every phone stated above is compatible with EriTones
Beaming ringtones
- Select the desired ringtone
- Tap the Play button if you want to hear how it sounds like
- Make sure the infrared on the phone is turned on
- Align the infrared windows of the phone and your Palm Powered handheld
- Tap the Beam button
Editing or reviewing ringtones
- Select the desired ringtone
- Tap the Edit button
- Tap the Done button when you have finished
Changing the font for the list view (for Palm OS 4.0 or above)
- Choose Font from the Ringtone menu
- Select the font and tap OK
Looking for a ringtone
- Tap the find icon which is next to the writing area (or press the Find button)
- Enter the name, the composer or some ringtone patterns and tap the Find button
- Select the desired result under the — EriTones — title
- Repeat if it doesn't find what you want
Sending ringtones via SMS (for Palm OS 4.0 or above; not available to MIDI)
- First, you must have the SMS Library installed if it has not been preloaded. Check with the user manual of your handheld about installing it.
Second, check the Phone panel under Prefs that the desired phone driver is chosen. Check on your handheld's installation CD or download one if it is not listed.
- Activate the infrared port or Bluetooth of your phone
- In EriTones, choose a ringtone. It is recommended to send the ringtone in the eMelody format.
- Select SMS Ringtone from the menu.
- Choose or enter a phone number when you're asked and tap the Send button.
Sending ringtones via Bluetooth (for Palm OS 4.0 or above; not available to vMel)
- If your Palm Powered handheld does not have with a build-in Bluetooth adaptor, you must install one with its drivers. Please refer to the user manual of your handheld or your Bluetooth adapter for details.
- Activate Bluetooth of your phone
- In EriTones, choose a ringtone and select Send Ringtone from the menu; select Bluetooth and proceed if you are asked to choose a send method.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to select the receiving device.
Exporting ringtones as Datebook alarm
- Select the desired ringtone
- Select Send Ringtone from the menu; select Export To Alarms
- Tap Export if you're asked for a confirmation
- The alarm is available on the Preferences under the Option menu of the Datebook.
Exporting ringtones as Trēo, Tungsten W or Xplore ringer (for Handspring Trēo 180, 180g, 270, 300, Palm Tungsten W and GSPDA G18/G88 only)

Select the desired ringtone
- Select Send Ringtone from the menu; select Export To Ringtones
- Tap Export if you're asked for a confirmation
- The ringtone is available on the Ringer panel under the Prefs.
