BeamMobile is an application for exchanging Business Cards and Calendar Notes between a Palm Powered handheld and an infrared-enabled GSM phone. The data are moved directly between the phone, not the network, thus no operator charge applied.

Using this application is simple: turns on the infrared of the phone, align the infrared windows of the two devices, choose an item from the Address or the Date Book browser and tap the Beam button.

News: Compatibility problems with the Tungsten E, Tungsten E2, Tungsten T3, Tungsten T5, TX, Trēo 650, Trēo 700p, Trēo 680p, Trēo 750p, Zire 31, Zire 72 and Z22 has been reported. Using BeamMobile 2.2 on these handhelds is discouraged. The problem is now fixed and will be delivered in the next release.

Phones and PDAs supported (via Infrared)

1. Other phones with build-in infrared port might work but have not been tested.
   If you know one that works, please let me know.
2. Models with firmware 5.17 reported. Might work under some 4.xx. Give it a try to find out.
3. Full support for Nokia 6100, 6200, 6220, 6230, 6230i, 6260, 6600, 6620, 6630, 6670, 6680, 6681, 6682, 9300, 9300i and 9500 will be delivered the next release.

Phones supported (via Bluetooth or SMS)

• virtually all GSM phones, including Motorola
• Sony Ericsson T68i firmware bug prevents sending via Bluetooth/SMS (including R2E)
