I decided to participate in CTC Board Magazine's "Day in North America" shoot for the first time this year. The concept is simple - railfan across the country go out and shoot pictures on the same day. I only had a half-hour to spare, so I only shot one (predictable) Amtrak train. After a failed attempt along the Huron River, I went down along the University of Michigan Hospital complex. Because the weather was bad, I could shoot from the side of the tracks that is normally in shadow.
Not too bad for a half hour's effort. Yes, the weather was poor, but railroading doesn't stop for the rain. If anything, that's what might happen on an 'average' day anyways. |
