What is Leecher?

Leecher is an application that will download all the specified files within a given url, provided that the files can be hotlinked. Aditionally, you can build your own sequence of urls, by specifying a numeric sequence

Leecher serves also as an image and movie (Quicktime supported formats) browser.

How does it work?

You start with the main Leecher window, as follows:

The toolbar gives you 4 different options: URL, Build URL, Browse Folder and Settings.

URL

In the URL option, all you have to do is enter the URL from which you would like to download the files, once you have entered the URL, click on the "Get" button, and Leecher will display the list of available files in that URL, you can then select which ones you want to download (by clicking on the download checkbox), or you can remove them from the list, by selecting the desired files and the hitting the delete key. You can also select multiple files and toggle their download checkbox by pressing the spacebar.

When your file list is ready, you can then click on the "Download" folder to begin the download process:

In this download window, you will see the download progress of each file in your download list, once the file has finished downloading, you can click on it and its contents will be displayed on the right of the download list (pictures and movies), you can also stop the download of a single file (by clicking on its "x" icon), stop all downloads (by clicking the stop button on the toolbar), reload a single file (by clicking its reload icon) and resume the stopped downloads (by clicking on the resume button on the toolbar).

Once the files have finished downloading, you can remove the ones you don't want (by selecting them and then hitting the delete key), you can view their contents, or you can save all the files to a specified location, by clicking on the save button on the toolbar.

Build URL

In the Build URL option, the interface is slightly different from the URL option, you now have two extra fields, to specify the numeric sequence of the URL you want to build, besides the "base" url:

You can now enter a "base" url, from which the full URL will be built, this base url will require a placeholder for the numeric sequence, this is done by adding "[##]" to the url, the placeholder will be replaced with the numeric sequence, the number of # specify the number of leading zeros, so if your images range from 001 to 100, you will need to specify [###] as placeholder, since the lowest number (1) will have two leading zeros, however, if your sequence does not have leading zeros you can specify [#] as the placeholder. See the screenshot for an example. After you're done with your download list, just click on the download button to start the download.

Browse Folder

You can browse any folder on your hard drive, Leecher will show previews of image files and movies (as long as is a format supported by Quicktime), once you select the browse option you will be asked to choose a folder, you can also drag a folder on the appication icon to browse its contents.
Once you have selected a folder, the browser window will appear:

The browser will then start loading the previews for the items in the folder, you can then click on a preview to display its contents. The size of the previews can be modified by dragging the slider underneath the previews.
Some pictures contain information about them, you can view this information (if available) by selecting "Show Info" in the contextual menu of a preview, or by clicking on the separator below the previews, just above the size slider, you will then be presented with the information for that file:

You can rename files and folders by double clicking on the filename, in the information pane. You can also drag new files into the preview area, this files will be moved to the current folder being browsed, also, you can drag items from the preview area anywhere on your hard disk, you can even select multiple files (by holding the shift key) or by "band" selecting files (click and drag), if you drag the files to another browser window or the finder, the files will be moved to the new location.
