It's coooooooold in ZimbabweI have a picture most of you wouldn't believe was
taken in Africa...
See this....
![]() That's FROST!!! I was in the low 40's/upper 30's this morning...I definitely did not dress for this! The day went well. With the new eMacs, the students were busy editing, compositing, image modeling and building sets. Not much to shoot pictures of but we hope to have some stuff to show by the end of the week. Saki and I had lunch with the woman who oversees the customs duties in Harare... ![]() She went above what she needed to do to get our computers through and we wanted to show our appreciation. In a country where people still manage things directly and with less automation taking over, relationships are even more important to maintain. It really is important all the time but it seems more important here. We would have been at a standstill without her. After lunch, I went to Micheal Hogg Young and Rubicam...an ad agency in town. Part of the next step of the Pixel Corps is bringing together artists already in the business and finding ways to support them in adding high-end media skills and staying in communication with the rest of the industry. The designers were really great to be with. While already very talented in their field, they all seemed ready for more. Harris (far left) was actually in the first ZIVA crew 3 years ago. It was good to see him designing away. ![]() I had dinner with Spud and Kathy Murphy, they do commercial and video work here in Harare. I will introduce you to them and show you their offices on Thursday...we're going over to do a Greenscreen shoot. Wednesday, we're doing some planning for the Thursday shoot and walking through some of the effects for the ZIFF video. Should be fun. By the way...if you want to discuss anything related to the trip... http://www.dvgarage.com/garage/break/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=127 There's the place to ask.
