performance notes
The tune has frequent stops, turns in mood and tempo changes and, overall, has an improvised feel. For this reason it is highly recommended that one listen to any of the available recordings prior to attempting to play Ouro Preto from the score posted here.

Note that on at least two recordings Ouro Preto is played as an interlude to the piece Serenade.
