Heading to a safe place in the hills, spending a couple of hours shooting at tin cans, cleaning up the trash and heading home. What Fun.

Salt Creek |
| One of many tide pools. |
Salt Creek faces North. The view is across the Strait of Juan De Fuca to Vancouver Island. Rocky shores.Tide pools. Kelp, and an expansive, sandy beach adjoining a rocky point. Sitting on the beach, digging our bare feet into the deep, fine, sand - sipping beer, watching ships enter the strait from the Pacific Ocean. Just the very tops of the ships visible at first. Spotting a Bald Eagle. Fog horns day and night at the end of the trip. A favorite place. |

| Old Story/New Photo |
I took the canoe to the Mats Mats Bay/Klas Rocks area. The sky was gray, no wind. I saw many seals and a couple of Bald Eagles. I anchored in the kelp bed near the rocks and hooked into one of the nicest fish I have ever caught. It was a good sized Cabezon. The fish used the kelp forest to resist being brought up to the canoe. I took a couple of pictures of it on the surface, then I turned it loose. The tide was outgoing. I'll fish an incoming tide next time and see what happens.
