- Participated in NEA NPP Hispanic Focus Group on July 22, 2008, in Washington DC.
- Currently a member, Iowa Learning Technology Commission (Established 2005) .
- Served in local, Uniserve (regional) and state teacher association leadership roles.
- Mentored 22 student teachers in Spanish since 1971.
- Selected as Golden Apple Teacher of the Year in 1993 for Northern Iowa by KIMT-TV.
- Has presented Internet/Email training in Mexico City, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa, using Distance Education in some instances in Iowa.
- Team member for writing U S WEST Laptop Grants for Iowa teachers and Implementation Team member for these grants.
- Currently maintains special web site for foreign language teachers, including over 70 links to classroom and teaching resources at his Quick Index site.
- Chairperson for the Iowa Education Telecommunications Council, 2000-2001. Member since 1994 and currently ISEA designee for the ETC.
- Had technology integration article featured online by the Global Schoolhouse.
- Currently has Best in Iowa Compaq Grant featured online.
- Served as Advisory Council member for joint Iowa/Nebraska Technology Challenge Project at the In-Vision (Foreign Language) Project site.

- Featured in February, 1999, NEA Today Bits and Bytes Article .
- Winner of a 1998-99 Showcase Award sponsored by Star Schools for his Foreign Language Web Site.
