The view from our hotel. It was right above a transit station and underground shopping mall. When we told people where we were staying they would say "Oh, at least it is in a nice location". It was centrally located, and was not a bad hotel overall.
When we were in line to get our tickets Beth recognized someone she worked for at the University of Michigan. This is Beth with Spencer Bement and his wife, Aileen. They were just finishing a month in New Zealand and Australia.
Here is a last look at Sydney as we started our 14 hour flight. Please note: that now that we are leaving the blue sky is coming out. The Sydneysiders (their name, not mine) were not too sympathetic, they needed the rain to recharge their reservoirs, and this 4+ days of rain only provided a few days of water.
