Beth on the rocks |

Remarkable rocks closer up |

with a person for scale |
Here
is beth walking up to the rocks, and a view of one side. The next
picture has a person in it to show
the scale. The ocean behind is the Southern Ocean and if you
started to swim away from the island the
next land you would reach is Antarctica.

Young wild Tammar wallaby |

Beth gets on the bus |
On
the path from the parking area to the rocks there was a abundant
wildlife, many song birds which we
could hear but not see. There was also this heath goanna and wild
Tammar wallabies. Here is our bus.
While it was quite large, there were only about 15 people on it.

Cape du Couedic light house |

New Zealand fur seals at Admiral's Arch |
Down
the coast from the Remarkable Rocks is the Admiral's Arch and Cape du
Couedic
(or Cape da Cooty, as the guide says the locals call it) light
house. There is a colony of New Zealand fur
seals that were carrying on.

Us with the Southern Ocean behind |

Succulents on the rocks at Admiral's arch |
The
view through Admiral's Arch. There are more seals down
there. Here are Beth and I with the
Southern ocean behind us. And these brightly colored succulents
are growing everywhere on the rocky
parts of the coast.
