  • Brown-throated Sunbird (Plain-t S) Anthreptes malacensis

  • Crimson Sunbird Aethopyga siparaja: A nice male seen in Lore Lindu NP.

  • Flame-breasted Flowerpecker Dicaeum erythrothorax: Just one for most but fortunately it was a male that showed well along the logging track on Halmahera.
  • Grey-sided Flowerpecker Dicaeum celebicum: Seen in several areas, but best of all were the views at Dumoga Bone

ZOSTEROPIDAE

  • Mountain White-eye Zosterops montanus
  • Lemon-bellied White-eye (Moluccan W-e) Zosterops chloris
  • Black-ringed White-eye Zosterops anomalus: Actually quite a nice bird (for a white-eye!!) and contrary to Coates and Bishop they did show yellow undertail coverts. One of the reasons that the detour to Ujung Pandang may become a permanent fixture.
  • Cream-throated White-eye Zosterops atriceps: Some brilliant views on Halmahera. Quite a character and another distinctive white-eye.
  • Black-fronted White-eye Zosterops atrifrons
  • Streak-headed Dark-eye(Streaky-h White-eye) Lophozosterops squamiceps

PASSERIDAE

  • Tree Sparrow (Eurasian T S) Passer montanus

ESTRILDIDAE

  • Blue-faced Parrotfinch Erythrura trichroa: A few tree top encounters but they were always a little elusive.
  • Black-faced Munia (Moluccan M) Lonchuramolucca: Many nice views on Sulawesi and Halmahera.
  • Scaly-breasted Munia Lonchura punctulata
  • Chestnut Munia Lonchura malacca
  • Pale-headed Munia Lonchurapallida: After several brief encounters we obtained great views at Palu airport.

FRINGILLIDAE

  • Mountain Serin (Indonesian S) Serinus estherae: Two that were found by Dave showed fantastically up at Anaso. The subspecies involved shows orange rather than yellow in the plumage. A great bird to see and it would appear that the form on Gunung Rorekatimbu (the mountain that Anaso is on) has not yet been described.
